We welcome self referrals and referrals from other professionals such as GPs and teachers.
We aim to complete the assessment process within the shortest time frame possible. This will vary depending on individual circumstances, but this is typically within 6 weeks following the initial consultation session.
Assessments are completed by either Dr Suzy Beak or Dr Rebecca Holt, both clinical psychologists. See our meet the team page for more details.
The clinic is located in central St Albans. Please see the map on our contact us page. The clinic address will be shared when booking an initial consultation.
It is possible that some parts of the assessment can be completed remotely if preferred. However, at least one of the appointments is required to be at the clinic in person. This can be discussed at your initial consultation.
Please get in touch through our contact us page and one of the team will aim to get back to you within 48 hours.
ADHD Herts accepts payment by bank transfer. Payment is requested 7 days in advance. We work with a number of insurance providers including Bupa. Please let us know if you will be using insurance to fund this assessment when making initial contact. We request that approval from your insurance provider is shared ahead of booking your assessment.
We are a psychology-led service and therefore unable to prescribe medication. We have close links with a prescribing service who we are able to refer you to. This is something that we can discuss during the feedback session.
Our assessments follow NICE guidelines and therefore meet the standards set by NHS services. Unfortunately we can not guarantee that your local NHS service will accept your diagnosis or report as this varies according to local policies. We recommend that if you intend to access NHS services in the future (for example if considering medication) that you make enquiries with your local service ahead of booking an assessment with us.
